For anyone who does not know Christ or is a new believer might be perplexed to understand this as a cry of victory. The tradition of the world expects us to mourn when someone dies. On this day of Good Friday, our non-believers friends tend to extend their heartfelt condolences when they see the picture of Jesus , God of Christian hanging on the cross. But the God we believe is awesome. The planning of God is above our understanding. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.(I Corinthians 1:18 ).
We as true believers do not mourn the death of Jesus Christ. We instead celebrate the death of Jesus Christ. This is the reason we
call it “GOOD FRIDAY”.Our God is the Sovereign. Even, His death on earth marks for His victory.Jesus said, ‘It is finished’ ( John 19:30)This is the sixth saying of Jesus Christ of the seven last sayings. This statement is traditionally called “The Word of Triumph” and is theologically interpreted as the announcement of the end of the earthly life of Jesus with Resurrection to be followed.
It is clear from Matthew and Mark that after Jesus said the sixth saying just before Jesus breathed his last, he “cried out again in a loud voice” (Matthew 27:50 , Mark 15:37). This loud cry was not the cry of defeat or hopelessness. This was the victorious loud cry of the Son of God who had completed His mission of being a blameless sacrifice for the salvation of the world.Jesus accomplished the mission on earth victoriously.
The following are the nine things Jesus achieved through His DEATH.
1) SANCTIFIED BY THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS
2) BY HIS DEATH, WE ARE DEAD TO SIN
3) THROUGH HIS DEATH, WE ARE PRESENTED AS HOLY, BLAMELESS AND ABOVE REPROACH
4) THROUGH HIS DEATH, DEVIL IS DESTROYED
5) PEOPLE WITH FEAR OF DEATH RELEASED FROM BONDAGE
6) WE HAVE BEEN UNITED TOGETHER WITH JESUS BY HIS DEATH
7) JESUS ,THE MEDIATOR BY MEANS OF DEATH
8) RECONCILED TO GOD
9) HIS DEATH BROUGHT US TO GOD
1) SANCTIFIED BY THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS
Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them ” (which are offered according to the law). By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:8-10
2) BY HIS DEATH, WE ARE DEAD TO SIN
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3) THROUGH HIS DEATH, WE ARE PRESENTED AS HOLY, BLAMELESS AND ABOVE REPROACH
And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—

4) THROUGH HIS DEATH DEVIL IS DESTROYED
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

9) HIS DEATH BROUGHT US TO GOD
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

So, let us celebrate the death of Jesus as we have received so many blessings as the result of it.
