🧭 When Life’s Decisions Feel Bigger Than You

Knowledge alone cannot guarantee right decisions. Solomon faced such a moment when he became king while still young and inexperienced. 👑 A Young King’s Greatest Request
After David’s death, Solomon became king over Israel during a time of peace and promise. Although he loved the Lord and worshiped Him sincerely, he knew the enormous responsibility of leading God’s covenant people. While worshiping at Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream and invited him to ask for anything.
Instead of requesting wealth, military success, or a long life, Solomon confessed his limitations. He described himself as “a little child” who did not know how to govern such a great nation. He asked God for an understanding heart to discern between good and evil so he could judge the people faithfully.
The Lord was pleased with this humble request. God granted Solomon extraordinary wisdom and also blessed him with riches and honor that he had not sought. Solomon’s request revealed that he valued God’s purpose above personal gain. His wisdom later became evident as he judged difficult cases, governed Israel with justice, and pointed people toward reverence for God. The story reminds us that true leadership begins with humble prayer and dependence upon the Lord.
