🎬🔛 In 1931, missionary James O. Fraser, serving among the Lisu people in Yunnan, China, faced intense spiritual oppression and exhaustion. His letters reveal that his strength was nearly gone, prayer felt heavy, and discouragement overwhelmed him. Unknown to him, a group of young Christians in England—who had committed to pray for him regularly—felt prompted by God to pray specifically and intensely on the same days James later wrote were his darkest moments.

💒 🕊️ ✨ Israel faced Amalek in their first recorded battle after leaving Egypt. Moses climbed the hill with Aaron and Hur while Joshua led the fight below. Moses’ uplifted hands symbolized intercession—Israel prevailed whenever they remained raised. But exhaustion set in. His arms trembled. Victory began slipping.
Instead of letting him struggle alone, Aaron and Hur placed a stone under him, stood at each side, and held up his hands until sunset. Their support kept Moses steady. Their strength became his strength. Their faith became Israel’s breakthrough. And because three men stood together, Joshua defeated Amalek.
🤔 🪞 💡This moment on the hill is a divine picture of how God works in our battles. Even the strongest leaders grow tired. Even the most faithful intercessors feel weakness. Moses’ fatigue reminds us that spiritual victories are rarely won alone; God sends people who stand beside us when our arms shake and our prayers grow faint. Aaron and Hur didn’t take Moses’ place—they strengthened his calling. They didn’t preach, instruct, or question—they simply held him up. God uses community, brotherhood, sisterhood, and fellowship to carry us when our own strength cannot. Victory often comes not through one person’s power, but through shared faith, shared endurance, and shared obedience. The hill teaches us that God answers prayers, but He often delivers help in the form of people who quietly lift our weary hands.

He discovered this only months later when their letters arrived, detailing dates and times of their intercession. Fraser immediately wrote that he had been “carried by a power not my own”—a real-life echo of Moses being held up by Aaron and Hur.
His situation changed soon after, and a breakthrough among the Lisu people followed.

⚒️🎯 In our battles, we must recognize that God never intended us to stand alone; when we grow weary, we must let others lift our arms, and when others falter, we must be willing to become their Aaron and Hur. We honor God when we support one another, carry each other in prayer, share burdens humbly, and admit that our strength sometimes comes through the faith of those beside us. We win when we stand together, pray together, persevere together, and fight our spiritual battles as one people under God’s hand.
