🎬🔛 During World War II, when Hitler’s forces were sweeping across Europe, Britain faced one of its darkest nights. In May 1940, the German army had trapped nearly 300,000 Allied soldiers on the beaches of Dunkirk. Military leaders admitted that rescue seemed impossible. If those men were lost, Britain’s defeat would be almost certain.
Far away from the battlefield, in a remote village in Swansea, Wales, an intercessor named Rees Howells and the students of the Bible College of Wales sensed an urgent burden to pray.
Without knowing the full military details, Rees Howells and the students of the Bible College of Wales gathered in the chapel and prayed through the night—pleading with God for miraculous intervention, refusing to leave until they sensed a breakthrough.

Most importantly, the passage teaches that our prayers genuinely affect real outcomes—even when we cannot fully understand how they align with God’s sovereign will. We pray not because we grasp every mystery, but because God invites us into His work.

• Against all odds, 338,000 soldiers were evacuated in what Winston Churchill later called a “miracle of deliverance.”
British newspapers reported it as “The Miracle of Dunkirk.”
But at the Bible College of Wales, Howells simply said:
“We prayed until God gave the victory.”

When we live this way, we begin to experience victories that are clearly beyond our strength, reminding us that God responds powerfully when we depend on Him fully.
