Scripture Reading: Exodus 14:10–12

The Israelites had just witnessed the mighty hand of God deliver them from slavery in Egypt through miraculous plagues. Yet, as Pharaoh’s army pursued them to the Red Sea, fear gripped their hearts. Instead of trusting the same God who brought them out, they complained to Moses, doubting God’s plan and desiring the false safety of their old bondage.
Fear often blinds us to God’s past faithfulness. The Israelites saw the Red Sea ahead and the Egyptian army behind—but they forgot that God was still with them. When circumstances seem impossible, faith calls us to remember that the God who began our deliverance will also finish it. Our journey with God may pass through fearful places, but His purpose never fails. What we see as a dead end, God sees as a pathway to victory.
In moments when I feel trapped between challenges and fear, I will remind myself of God’s past faithfulness in my life. Instead of panicking, I will choose to pray and trust that the same God who has brought me this far will make a way ahead. I will not return to the comfort of old habits or fears, but move forward in faith.
Lord, when fear surrounds me, remind me that You are greater than what I see. Strengthen my faith to trust Your plan even when I don’t understand it. Lead me through every Red Sea in my life. Amen.
