Exodus 12:12–13
On the night of the first Passover, God’s judgment came upon Egypt. Every firstborn was struck unless there was blood on the doorposts. The difference between life and death was not nationality, family heritage, or good works—it was the blood of the lamb applied.
-If an Israelite ignored the command, judgment still came.
-If an Egyptian believed and applied the blood, they were spared.
-Mere knowledge of God’s command was not enough; the blood had to be applied.
This shows us that God’s salvation is by having faith to His provision, not by human effort.
Fulfillment in Christ
• Jesus is the true Passover Lamb (John 1:29).
• His blood is our covering, saving us from eternal death (Hebrews 9:22).
• His sacrifice delivers us from sin and bondage, just as Israel was freed from Egypt (Romans 6:17–18).
• Through His blood, judgment passes over us (Romans 8:1).
Application
• Have you applied blood of Jesus by faith?
• Salvation is not about being born in a Christian family, attending church, or knowing the Bible—it is about being covered by the blood of Christ.
• Today, give thanks that when God sees the blood of Jesus on your life, His judgment passes over you.
Prayer
🙏 Lord, I thank You for the blood of Jesus, the true Passover Lamb. Thank You that through His sacrifice, judgment has passed over me, and I am free from sin and death. Help me to live in gratitude and obedience, always remembering that my salvation is only in the blood of Jesus. Amen.
